Apple, which sets the bar for the smartphone world with its iPhone series, continues its preparations for the iPhone 16 while also planning its future releases. Important sources have revealed new details about the iPhone 17.
iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Plus will have 120Hz ProMotion always-on displays
Although the iPhone series offers top-notch hardware experiences, it falls behind in some details compared to its competitors. One of the biggest criticisms of the company has been that standard models have screens with a 60Hz refresh rate. It seems that the company will change this in the coming years.
In recent years, Apple has made significant differences between its standard and Pro models, and the screen is included in this. While the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus use low-temperature polycrystalline silicon (LTPS) panels, Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro models use more advanced low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LPTO) panels.
According to a report by The Elec, Apple is making a significant change to the screen for its iPhone 17 series, which will be released next year. The ProMotion technology with a 120Hz refresh rate found in the iPhone 15 Pro models will also be seen in the standard models alongside the iPhone 17 series.
Last year, a source named Ross Young shared Apple’s plans. The share provided screen specifications for the iPhone series. According to this, the iPhone 17 Pro models will feature an under-display Face ID feature.
